Claim the Lane: Becoming Roxy Film Sneak-Preview Screening: June 26th at the Barre Social Club

Claim the Lane: Becoming Roxy tracks the story of Roxy Bombardier, an Iraq veteran amateur cyclist who confronts a transphobic past and risks her closest relationships to come out and be her true self at age 51. Filmed over the course of two years, this feature documentary is a humanizing character study of Roxy’s growth, grit, and love for community as she decides to live the second half of her life as a woman, while training for Vermont's most grueling gravel race.

During a time when transgender rights have become more politicized than ever, transgender storylines are often reductive and rarely deeper than a headline. Claim the Lane spotlights the universal choices and conflicts of seeking truth in ourselves and our relationships— struggles shared by everyone, regardless of identity.

After the screening we’ll host a panel discussion, including audience questions, with Roxy, Rainbow Bridge Community Center, and Pride Rides VT.
